The Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives Brown Bag Lunch Series welcomes Marc C. Johnson to speak on his newest publication, Mansfield and Dirksen: Bipartisan Giants of the Senate, on Wednesday, September 13th at noon. Johnson has worked as a broadcast journalist, a top aide to Idaho’s longest-serving governor Cecil D. Andrus, and as a crisis management and communication consultant. American political history has long been his passion.
Johnson is the author of Tuesday Night Massacre: Four Senate Elections and the Radicalization of the Republican Party and Political Hell-Raiser: The Life and Times of Senator Burton K. Wheeler of Montana. Johnson’s latest book – Mansfield and Dirksen: Bipartisan Giants of the Senate – explores the personal and political relationship between two of the Senate’s most important 20th-century leaders.
The presentation will begin at noon and run for about an hour at the Archives, 17 W. Quartz. Guests are encouraged to bring a sack lunch. Coffee and water will be provided. Brown Bag Lunches are held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month. For more information, contact the Archives at (406) 782-3280.
