The Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives will continue its Brown Bag Lunch series on Wednesday, October 23, with a presentation by Mike Dwyer. His grandfather, Johnny Dwyer, three of his brothers and two sisters, emigrated from the Eyeries parish of Beara, County Cork, to make a life in Butte. Johnny left his wife and three children at home on the farm. Growing up on that farm, Mike heard talk of Butte, copper, and felt a sense of loss. He will talk about what became of those who left, as well as the effect on those left behind
The presentation will begin at noon and run about an hour at the Archives, 17 W. Quartz. Guests are encouraged to bring a sack lunch. Coffee and water will be provided.
Brown Bag Lunches are held the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month. Upcoming lectures will focus on topics of local interest. For more information, contact the Archives at 782-3280.
