John Powers worked as a miner, trammer, motorman, and on the surface for the Anaconda Copper Mining Company. A talented artist, Powers was commissioned to illustrate safety posters for the company beginning in 1942 until his retirement in 1969. So well done and relevant to the industry, his illustrations were published in the Arizona Mining Journal and the Mining Congress Journal and even sent to Australia.

We have created coloring pages from Powers’ safety posters for you to enjoy! Check back as we add more illustrations to this collection.
