We house collections that span all areas of Butte history including immigration, labor, clubs and organizations, as well as our city and county’s government record. We can also assist with property searches utilizing Historic Landmark District property inventories, tax assessment records, Sanborn maps, and more.
In-house research is free-of-charge, with only a small fee for scans and copies. Public computers are available, and accessibility to our newspaper and genealogy databases are free. Our services are available Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. excluding government holidays. The Archives’ reading room closes at 4:45 p.m. to allow staff to refile archival materials.
