Several resources are available in the Archives to search your Butte ancestors including Polk City Directories, Naturalization Documentation, Birth and Death Records, School Census Reports, Newspapers (local and labor), Yearbooks, Anaconda Company Employment Books (1912-1922), and Cemetery Data. We also have many collections pertaining to Butte including labor history records, club and organization records, as well as photographs. Our services are available Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. excluding government holidays. The Archives’ reading room closes at 4:45 p.m. to allow staff to refile archival materials.

For patrons who are unable to visit our facility to conduct research, the Archives’ fee is $25 per hour for research (searching for up to three people), with an additional fee for scans and copies. Extensive research requests may require additional fees. Research takes approximately four weeks; more depending on the scope of the research.
