St. Brigid’s Day Celebration

February 1 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Free

The Friends of the Butte Archives invite the public to a special St. Brigid’s Day event on Sunday, February 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Sláinte, located at 8 S. Montana Street.

St. Brigid is revered as both a Celtic goddess and Ireland’s only female patron saint. Attendees will discover stories of Butte’s own remarkable women who shaped the community’s cultural and social history, and highlight two locally women-owned businesses.

The event will also include a hands-on activity where participants can create their own St. Brigid’s Cross, a traditional symbol of protection and renewal associated with the saint and the coming of spring.

The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Butte Archives and is open to the public. Community members of all ages are welcome to attend.
